I read about tansen and also like nusrat fateh ali khan's music. Its written that they sing hindustani classical. But since years it doesn't seem that indians in india never knew nor do they like hindustani classical! Then whose music is it? If mughal emperor of india jehangir was from iraq, then were the learned men of king akbar also present in king jehangir's court! I look into my mind visions that iraqi muslim thin boys in white hizab raising their hands and talking to entertain king jehangir. They perhaps sing hindustani classical 'mera piya ghar aya'. The raga. I also never understood the song 'afrin afrin'. Since in iran, afghanistan, pakistan and india...there doesn't seem anyone befiting for this song. As you can see everyone is so modest. Then perhaps the 'afrin afrin' is for women living in iraq. I was thinking if such hoor iraqi woman visits india, she might be so fair that a chaddar/cloth would be needed to cover indian intimidated men, women and children!
