Linux is free and open source operating system. Linux is very good and free replacement of Windows.

There are several distributions of Linux. Ubuntu is one of them. You can download the free copy of Ubuntu Linux from the following URL:

Ubuntu Linux can be installed very easily either stand alone or as a dual operating system with windows. Even you can install Ubuntu on Windows partition. The graphical user interface (GUI) of Ubuntu is very nice. It is easy and fun to use. Try it !!

LinuxPakistan started life as the pluc@!SPAMegroups.com mailing list. The list was started by AbdulBasit? and a couple of his SSUET buddies to discuss Linux stuff. Since then, the LUG has grown into a moderately sized group with more than 300 members on the list, and more than 3200+ registered website users. We have members in all of the major (and a lot of smaller) cities in Pakistan. The common goal is to learn about and teach Linux and Opensource software.
