Assalam alaikum,
In some parts of the Holy Qur'an we have read it where Allah, Almighty and Glorious is He, says:--
"WHAT! DID YOU THINK THAT WE CREATED YOU ONLY FOR SPORT, AND THAT YOU
WOULD NOT BE RETURNED TO US?" ( al-Mumineen, 115 ).
"WHAT, DOES MAN RECKON HE SHALL BE LEFT TO ROAM AT WILL?" ( al-Qiyama, 36 ).
These 2 Noble Ayats remind us all to get our acts together and call ourselves to account before the Divine Judgement cathes up with us. In this regard, the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--
"A mindful person is he who takes his lower self [ego] under control, calls it to
account and performs good deeds for the world to come. A foolish person is
the one who expects something good from the Almighty in vain, while following
the desires of his lower self." [Tirmidhi, Qiyamah 25; Ibn Majah, Zuhd, 31].
