Ingredients :
Basmati rIce,soaked1 1/2 cups
Tomato puree 1 1/2 cups
Green peas1/2 cup
Oil1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds1 Teaspoon
Asafoetidaa pinch
Red Chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Saltto taste•Garam masala powder1 Teaspoon
Fresh Coriander leaves,choppedfor garnish
Matar Tamater Pulao Method :
Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for a minute. Add asafoetida and tomato puree, mix well, cover and cook till the oil surfaces.
Add rice, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala powder and mix well. Add two and a half cups water, stir to mix and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on medium heat for ten minutes.
Add green peas and mix well. Cover and cook till the rice is completely done. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
