In the past couple of weeks, there has been two drone strikes which have taken out two very important TTP leaders. On 29 may, Waliur Rehman, the deputy of TTP was eliminated and a few days ago, Motaqi, also known as Bahadur Khan, an important commander of TTP met his demise. In addition to these two, numerous other foreign and domestic extremists to the likes of Ilyas Kashmiri, Baitullah Mehsud, Abu Zaid al-Kuwaiti, Atiyah Abd-al-Rahman, Abu Yahya al-Libi, Abdallah al-Adam have been killed through the use of drones. Considering that these and other terrorists were no friends of Pakistan, we have to admit, as do analysts, that drones are the most effective weapons against these types of individuals and groups that they belong to. If we want peace and security to return to Pakistan, we must believe that the only way to remove the extremists and terrorists from our land is to eliminate them and the best and the most effective means of eliminating them is no other weapon than a drone strike.
