بے حساب رنج و غم
اپنے دل پہ سہتے ہیں
…جان تک گنواتے ہیں
نم آنکھوں سے ہنستے ہیں

رنج عارضی ہیں یہ
خود فریبی ہے
سُن
اصل میں یوں ہوتا ہے
مختصر سی مدت میں
خوشیاں بیت جاتی ہیں
ہم خود فریبی میں
زندگی بتاتے ہیں
ایک چراغ بجھتا ہے
دوسرا جلاتے ہیں
دشتِ آس و یاس میں
ننگے پاؤں چلتے ہیں
خوشیوں کی تلاش میں
غم سمیٹ لیتے ہیں
