Looking back on my life

Looking back on my life
It is easy to see
Why I sit here alone
Feeling sorry for me

Everyone is gone
Everyone I loved
I sent them away
When push came to shove

I had all my reasons
It all made good sense
I burned all my bridges
I put up my fence

Kids brightened my life
Friends came to my door
I found my true love
Who could ask for more?

But I gave them all up
For that's what I do
Thus I sit here alone
Alone through and through
